Voiceover

Ever wondered how to be the voice in the ad you hear on the radio? The narrator explaining the next part of the documentary? The person directing you on the best way to install the blade on your lawnmower tutorial? The narrator keeping you on the edge of your seat in a true crime audiobook?

We’re hosting an open call to for talented individuals looking to gain experience and work in the world of voiceovers. As a recording studio we are frequently tasked with sourcing voices for projects ranging from commercials to animation, described video to language dubbing. We pitch voices from our community to local and external production companies on a continual basis, so this is our way of getting to know who’s available and what skills they have.

During this two day event we invite everyone to come and visit the studio, record up to three short samples, take a headshot and collect some general information about your vocal talents – things like speaking other languages, unique accents, character voices, etc.

Everyone is welcome, no experience required.

FAQ

Can I provide my own script? Yes. Make sure to select something that highlights the aspects of your voice that you are trying to showcase. We reserve the right to edit anything that might be inappropriate and/or offensive.

Can you provide a script for me? Yes, we will have a number of sample scripts available for you to choose from.

Can I record more than one sample? You are welcome to record more than one sample during your visit, provided they are substantially different. For example, recording a script in English and French would qualify, but we don’t need examples of a dozen celebrity impressions. 3 samples is our recommended maximum. Because this is an open call for talent across the entire community, please be respectful of others’ time that are participating.

Do I get to keep the voiceover sample recording? No, those are for our internal database which we then use to pitch your voice to clients.

I’m ____ years old, can I still participate? Yes, all ages are welcome. We get requests for all kinds of voices from children to seniors. However, anyone under the age of 16 requires an adult or guardian to be present.

Will Blueprints represent me like a booking agent? No, that would be a conflict of interest and unfair to all of the other talent that we work with. When a request from a client comes in we simply forward the samples of the talent that are the best fit for who they are looking for.

If I get a hired for a job, how much will I get paid? Does Blueprints take a commission? Pricing is negotiated from project to project (a 30 second radio ad is not the same as a 9 hour audiobook). We do not take a percentage of your fee.

I’m unable to attend, is there another way for me to submit my work for consideration? Yes, you can email info@blueprintsaudio.com with “Voiceover Call For Talent” in the subject line with a link to a downloadable audio sample that you have the rights to, as well a head shot / promo photo.

I no longer wish to be in the Blueprints voiceover database. How can I be removed? Send an email to info@blueprintsaudio.com and we will remove you within 5 business days.
